The Spanish Carlos Alcaraz assurance on Tuesday, after making his debut with a solid 6-3, 6-2 win over the American Mackenzie McDonaldwhich is one of the goals in the Masters 1,000 of Cincinnati it “grows” under pressure.
“I am very happy with my performance. One of the goals in this tournament is to grow under pressure, to have fun again like I did at the beginning of this year and last year.”said Alcaraz at the end of his fight.
The Murcian, who beat McDonald in one hour and five minutes, explained what he was trying to do “you should rest” and he was satisfied with what he did in this round.
“Very nice, very good playing on this track”he said, referring to the support shown to him by the audience, even though he was facing an American rival.
He also considers that Cincinnati’s track is “very fast” and that’s why he tried to be very focused and aggressive.
In the third round, Alcaraz will face one between Croatian Marin Cilic and Finn Emil Ruusuvuori.
