The third bidding period for the place in the Second RFEF is open

Date:

The Eagles, one of the candidates for the vacancy of Extremadura. to take over

On Wednesday, August 17, the third bidding period opened for the place that Extremadura left empty after its disappearance. Having received no bids in the first two installments, worth approximately two million and one million euros respectively, the RFEF opens the third installment to bid in the place for an amount of €512,149.95.

It looks like the main contenders will be Almería, Levante and Águilas. The first two so that their subsidiaries compete in a higher category; the latter, to get back the spot they lost a few months ago.

The arrival of players like Dani Pérez, Juan Góngora and Álex Peque on the coastal team, plus the bloc supporting footballers like Iván Buigues, Kalu Uche and Víctor Fenoll, suggests that Águilas FC has the opportunity to return to the Second Division RFEF in the offices.

The only thing that brings back Alfonso García, owner of the club, are the miles the Águilas have to travel to keep the vacancy. More than 20,000 kilometers, with trips to Extremadura, the island of La Palma or Melilla, to name just a few examples.

García has diligently witnessed the travels of the Aquiline team and is aware of the difficulty he would face if he landed in Group V of the Second RFEF. Managing his affairs during the week would in many cases be incompatible with the top of his club, as he would like.

On the sporting side, Alfonso García does not like the weekly work schedule changes in the first team because of the long travel times. Depending on schedules and distance, there would be weeks with the Eagles coming home well into the early hours of Sunday or even Monday morning.

Alfonso’s ambition and desire is to bid and choose for the vacant position, and it looks like it will eventually be. But everything that comes with playing in a group that includes clubs from Extremadura, Madrid, La Mancha, Gimnástica Segoviana, UD Melilla and Atlético El Paso raises doubts in the aquiline businessman when it comes to taking the final step.

The deadline to show interest in filling the vacancy ends next Thursday, August 18 at 11:59 PM. After that, the team doing this has 24 hours to cash in the €512,149.95.
