Wild scenes took place in East Tyrol on Tuesday evening: a 63-year-old resident is said to have threatened the death of two neighbors. When the alarmed police arrived, the suspect panicked and attacked the officers with an air pump. The suspect was arrested with pepper spray.
Shortly after 8 p.m., police in Lienz were told that the 63-year-old Austrian had threatened two of his neighbors with death. A patrol immediately drove to the suspect’s apartment. “When officers knocked on the door, the man came out screaming and verbally abusive,” the director said.
With an air pump to attack
But that’s not all: The 63-year-old then ran back to his apartment – he grabbed an initially unknown oblong object and used it to beat the police officers. The suspect was eventually arrested with pepper spray.
A cop injured
It turned out that the “murder weapon” was a metal air pump. One officer suffered minor injuries during the operation. Further investigations are underway.
