Hyundai has opened the world’s first car-powered hotel, the Hyundai Hotel. The new experience, one of a kind, curated by the broadcaster and critic
Grace Dent, is one of the most exclusive off-grid experiences of 2022 “Now more than ever we are looking for unique and memorable stays, and this is a delightful blend of innovation, luxury and comfort that will leave you thinking. Where could the next Hyundai Hotel appear, with the power out of the car?’ said Dent.

“I’m excited for those who stay with us to sample the locally sourced and sustainable menu, as well as the equally fantastic cocktails, and of course get a good night’s sleep. I hope this three-week pop-up hotel is just the beginning of this concept of a car that connects and fuels such a luxurious experience. I expect guests to look forward to their great hotel and the full experience it offers to be here again in 2023,” he continues.

Located in Essex, just an hour from central London, the Hyundai Hotel focuses on a
luxury cabin and has been developed in three key areas:. First up is the Guest Suite, a high-end luxury cabin from Colemans Farm, the room offers everything guests can expect from a luxury boutique hotel. From the lighting to all amenities, everything is powered by IONIQ 5 and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology.

No hotel is complete without a bar and restaurant, and the Hyundai Hotel is no different. Created by Grace Dent, the menu and cocktails offer a food and drink offering that is as innovative and sustainable as the cars that drive them, using ingredients sourced locally in Essex. In addition to indoor and outdoor dining and cooking over the fire, the bar and restaurant area will feature an IONIQ 5 coffee lounge, featuring expertly prepared espresso fueled by the car.

To round out the evening, guests can enjoy a movie with a projector and car powered speakers, with a V2L powered popcorn machine for a true cinematic experience.

“Our award-winning IONIQ 5 can power the Hyundai Hotel using its V2L feature, where a car adapter provides a power outlet to which home appliances can be connected,” he said.
Ashley Andrew, general manager of Hyundai Motor UK. “The whole experience demonstrates the usefulness of this groundbreaking technology and we hope the concept will inspire more people to go off-grid,” he added.

The IONIQ 5 can power the hotel and its experiences through its V2L function, which provides alternating current (110/200 V) for up to 3.6 kW of consumption. A car adapter provides a power outlet to which standard household appliances can be connected. The Hyundai Hotel is open for 14 nights, from October 19 to November 5, from Wednesday to Sunday.
