Mercedes-Benz: the ‘concept’ EQT Marco Polo offers practical solutions for camping enthusiasts
The ‘concept’, close to series production, offers the first glimpse of a true micro-camper based on an electric compact MPV, expected to hit the market in the second half of 2023. Before then it will already be available an easy solution for camping. The new Marco Polo module: the EQT2, also presented, is prepared for camping with this module that contains a bed and kitchen furniture and can be assembled and disassembled in an instant.
With the EQT Marco Polo, which is about to enter series production, Mercedes-Benz is showing its proposal for a small motorhome that is also fully electric. The EQT Marco Polo concept combines a modern drive concept and an innovative motorhome interior and offers full flexibility for everyday use thanks to the possibility to completely remove the module in a few simple steps.
However, the new EQT not only forms the basis for the two camping solutions, it also offers customers an attractive entry into electric mobility from Mercedes-EQ. The compact MPV combines the variability and equipment level of the T-Class with the benefits of 100% electric propulsion for families and outdoor leisure enthusiasts. It combines compact exterior dimensions with plenty of interior space.
Thanks to the installation of the battery in the lower part of the body, it offers almost the same variability and practicality in the interior as the conventionally powered T-Class.
In addition, the EQT, based on the T-Class, also offers a low loading sill, practical sliding doors and typical Mercedes standards in terms of comfort, connectivity and safety.
