Opel Astra: sixth electrified generation

Stellantis’ German model comes in petrol, diesel and for the first time plug-in hybrid versions, with 5-door and family bodies. With a length of 4.37 m and a luggage compartment of 422 liters, it has a look aimed at those looking for sporty and family characteristics.

The Opel Astra has a birthday, nothing more and nothing less than 82 if we take into account its origin with the name Kadett. With its current name, it reaches the sixth generation.
A real revolution and not just aestheticsbut also in terms of engines, because for the first time the model will have a plug-in hybrid version, to which a 100% electric version will be added.

Achieve a sporty look thanks to the “Opel Vizor” grille in compass look and with
a two-tone painting, with the darkened roof, making it appear sportier and lower than it actually is. In addition to the 5-door version, which can comfortably accommodate five people with a luggage compartment of very correct dimensions, those who need more space can opt for the family version of the Sports Tourer, with a luggage compartment from 597 liters.

Comfort is mainly guaranteed by the excellent AGR-certified front seats with no less than 16 adjustment options.

In terms of technology, the Astra has the latest evolution of adaptive light. Intelli-Lux LED Pixel Light comes straight from the Opel Insignia and with 168 LED elements,
leads the compact vehicle market segments and medium. Inside the new generation of the Astra, a leap in time has been made. With the digital module Pure Panel, analog instrumentation is a thing of the past. Instead, the new human-machine interface (HMI) with modern graphics offers customers a cleaner and more intuitive experience. Passengers can operate the large touchscreens in the new Astra intuitively, just like a smartphone.

The new model is equipped with numerous state-of-the-art assistance systems, such as the front collision warning system with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection,
alane change warningincluding traffic sign recognition and fatigue detection.

With versions with highly efficient petrol and diesel engines with power outputs of up to 225 hp, combined with 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission,
the big news is the plug-in hybrid versionand from 2023 the first 100% electric Astra will arrive.

The plug-in hybrid variant,
with 180 hp and a maximum torque of 360 Nmin pure electric mode it can travel up to 60 kilometers (WLTP) with no emissions, which can reach almost 74 km in an urban environment.
