The election process starts today. The selected models are in the hands of readers’ votes and the opinion of a professional jury composed of 34 journalists from the most prestigious media.
The ABC Award for Best Car of the Year 2023 will be determined from next Friday via the website mejorcoche.abc.es. Via this site ABC’s ‘premium’ readers and subscribers can vote for the twelve finalists selected for this edition.
The
readers vote in general – who can vote once a day – have a weight of 5% in the choice of the winner, while
that of the subscribers -who can vote only once- becomes 15%.
The remaining 80% in the final election matches
a jury consisting of thirty-four automotive journalists most prestigious in the country.

For the vote, first of all, the non-professional jury must be carried out through the web mejorcoche.abc.es. ABC Premium subscribers can only vote once during the entire contest. Voting is open from Friday 18 November 09:00 to Friday 2 December 24:00, both in 2022.
ABC will in turn send the members of the professional jury an e-mail stating, among other things:
the voting schedule and voting instructions. Each juror must send their vote by email. And in the event that a juror casts more than one vote, only the last one will be taken into account. The notary draws up an official report of the result of the vote.
Each member of the expert jury must evaluate all car models on each of these parameters,
scored 13 points for best car, 11 next, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point. The concepts are quality/price ratio, design, engines (range), driving feel, comfort/quality of life, technology and driving aids, consumption, reliability/guarantee and efficiency (CO2 and NOx emissions).
ABC will communicate
the result of the vote on 14 December in an act in which representatives of the twelve finalist brands are summoned and the award ceremony is later organized.
