Volvo FH, Volvo FM and Volvo FMXprovide a new, efficient driving experience that makes a difference to decarbonising road transport.
The presentation of this electric range brought together around 300 people at the Jarama circuit in Madrid, who were able to try out the experience of driving the new models through track test drives during the Go Electric event.
Giovanni Bruno, general manager of Volvo Trucks Spain, explained the Swedish company’s sustainability strategy to reaffirm its determined commitment to decarbonising freight transport. We are privileged to be the first brand on the market with an all-electric range, demonstrating our leadership in innovation and technology. To make electromobility a reality, we all need to be part of the change together.” A fundamental change, he noted, that “will happen yes or yes”.
Road transport is the most priority area to reduce CO2 emissions, according to Europe’s leading e-commerce and manufacturing companies. This is evident from a new report from Ipsos and Volvo Trucks
companies are willing to pay more by carriers with lower CO2 emissions.
Volvo Trucks has set a global target that by 2030, 50% of all new trucks sold will be battery or fuel cell powered.
The switch to electricity it is led by Europe and North America, where the targets are even higher. In Europe, for example, the ambition is currently around 70% for all new trucks sold by 2030.
Volvo Trucks is testing electric trucks with fuel cells that only emit water vapor and have a range comparable to
diesel trucks, up to 1000km. In a few years’ time, a second pilot phase will start in which tests will be carried out at customers on public roads.
