The mara will not sell 100% electric vehicles until 2030
“Jeep’s values have been linked to the idea of freedom and adventure for 80 years,” he says.
Paulo Carelli, general manager of the brand in Spain. Some principles to which he has remained true and which he does not want to give up, despite the leap to electrification and becoming 100% electric in 2030.
This path to a 100% zero-emission range includes the launch of four new zero-polluting models before 2025, Carelli said during a meeting with the media over the Christmas holidays.
The first of them,
the Jeep Avenger, is already being marketed in Spain, and it is the first 100% electric Jeep in the brand’s history. It has a 400 V engine that develops 115 kW (156 hp), with a maximum torque of 260 Nm for a range of 400 km, according to the WLTP protocol, which can reach up to 550 km on purely urban routes.
Die
the delay in Spain and Italy with the installation of the charging infrastructure, a version of this model with a petrol engine will only be launched in these two markets. The electric version is for sale from 249 euros per month and the petrol version with a monthly amount of 199 euros for 36 months, in both cases with an investment of 5,000 euros.
The
most advanced technology is one of the features of this model, which includes functions such as Traffic Jam Assist or Blind Spot Detection and its ability to maintain its speed, its position in the middle of the lane and its safety distance from other vehicles. In addition, it has 360º parking sensors and a reversing camera that displays the vehicle’s surroundings in the view of the drone.
The e-Hybrid traction chain was another of the big Jeep innovations of the year.
Available on Jeep Compass and Jeep Renegade, combines the characteristics of a 1.5 turbo petrol engine, developing 130 hp, with those of a 15 kW (20 hp) electric motor. This technology provides 100% electric propulsion at key moments, such as starting, driving at low speed or cruising speed or parking maneuvers, in addition to reducing consumption and CO2 emissions by 15% compared to petrol versions.
To increase the electric range and
reduce emissions and consumption, the braking system on the Jeep Renegade and Compass e-Hybrid features a “self-charging” feature that uses deceleration to maximize kinetic energy recovery and improve efficiency. Recovers energy that would otherwise be lost when the vehicle decelerates (e-Coasting) and during braking (Regenerative Braking).
Electric Drive allows the vehicle to run quietly and emission-free, using only the electric motor, while the petrol engine is switched off.
The 4xe plug-in hybrid technology, which includes the highest performance, on-road and off-road versions of the various models in the Jeep range, has been extended in 2022 to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is the most powerful version of the 4xe range, with
a combined power of up to 380 hpfour-wheel drive, a maximum torque of 637 Nm and a range of up to 50 km “zero emission”.
It offers all-wheel drive in full electric mode, delivering off-road performance in complete safety and the pleasure of listening to the sounds of nature.
With the addition of the Jeep Avenger and Jeep Grand Cherokee to the rest of the range, Jeep
electrified motorisations throughout the range.
