Renault launches 1,976 numbered copies of its latest Megane RS

Date:

This new model called Ultime, which closes the prestigious history of Renault Sport, which began in 1976, will replace the Mégane RS and Mégane RS Trophy from February

Renault has presented its latest RS, the latest model signed by Renault Sport. This time with one
unique finish and design, will arrive to completely replace the current RS and Trophy models. In fact, the next chapters of the sporty variants of the Renault group will be written by Alpine.

This new model has an exclusive design with specific graphics inspired by the design of the new Renault logo, a decoration on the bonnet, roof (unless there is a sunroof), rear bumper, doors and wings. It also features front wing vents, RS Vision headlights, a center exhaust, shark antenna, spoiler and functional rear diffuser. The founding date of Renault Sport, 1976, is also discreetly marked on the right-hand door; date that too
means the number of copies that will be released

For this limited series, many details are painted black, such as the logos, door handles, window frames, rims (including center caps), fender moldings, rear diffuser and F1 front bumper foil, which is gloss black and features ‘Ultime’ inspiration.

In the passenger compartment, the Megane RS Ultime is equipped as standard with the bucket seats signed by Recaro. They are covered in black Alcantara and show off the embroidered RS monogram. The keyless entry and start card has the same pattern that adorns the body. Specific door sills have also been designed and near the gear lever, in the lower part of the console, there is a numbered metal plate marking the exclusivity of each model.

The equipment is also quite complete. It includes a 9.3-inch screen with integrated navigation, Bose sound system, 10-inch digital instruments, RS Monitor telemetry application, adaptive cruise control and parking aids. The list of options is limited to a head-up display, sunroof and a specific cover, which will delight fans who opt for this
real collector’s item.

Finally, this limited series has the 4-cylinder turbo engine that
offers 300 hp and 420 Nm, the EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission and Torsen mechanical differential, the same as in the Megane RS Trophy. Thanks to this engine, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. And to complete the recipe, it is equipped with the 4Control all-wheel steering system, for superior sporty handling, even on the track.
