The old Mytaxi already has a taxi, car sharing, motorcycle sharing, bicycle sharing and scooters in its application
In the world of mobility in Madrid, the trend is none other than concentration. Recently, Mobilize, the division dedicated to these Renault services, announced that it has signed an agreement with Cabify to supply them with 40 Limo electric sedans and nurture their own zero-emission fleet.
These agreements are doubly necessary: on the one hand, it is the only way to deal with other operators who bring together more services on the same platform. On the other hand, it is the sum of the billing that makes the result positive.
The last of these agreements was between Free Now, the former Mytaxi, with Zity, Mobilize’s car-sharing arm. The company will thus combine two short-term rental services in its own ecosystem: Share Now and Zity.
Ever since shared mobility became popular — Madrid is the leading city in Europe, where there were simultaneously six motorcycle-sharing companies and four car-sharing companies — his company’s figures have been questioned, with some players pulling out of the competition, such as Coup, the motorcycle-sharing service which is promoted by Bosch.
In the case of Zity,
last year they achieved a turnover of 8 million euros and 1.5 million journeys in Madrid, with a fleet of 800 vehicles. The company’s data director,
Navy Knightstated that they intend with the union to have a larger user base based on the users of the Free Now platform.
“We have found the perfect partner in Free Now to bring our model of sustainable mobility to more people. We hope to learn from their experiences and provide users of both platforms with more and better options for their daily commute.”
In addition to car sharing, the platform includes all mobility services: taxi, motorcycles, bicycles and electric scooters. Since the emergence of the shared mobility economy, it was only a matter of time to create a service aggregator that would bring all offers together in the same application.
The event was also attended by the General Coordinator of Mobility of the Madrid City Council,
Federico Jimenez de Pargadeclaring that the ban on certain vehicles to low emission zones from 2023 only provides for
“propagated by Europe for environmental reasons”
He also stressed that the municipality had used up the €10.5 million — and asked for four million more — for the Cambia 360 plan, which can finance the purchase of a car with an Eco or Zero label. You can register until June 27.
