The car rental company benefits from the behavior of the used car division
The car rental company Alphabet achieved a pre-tax profit of 28.3 million in Spain in 2021, which is 50% more than in the previous year, the company reports.
The company has indicated that this growth is driven in part by the behavior of the company’s used car division, which will continue an upward trend in the first months of 2022.
“After a year marked by the pandemic and low mobility in 2020, 2021 was a new impetus for renting,” said the CEO in Spain of the BMW group company, Alberto Copado.
“Over the past year, we managed to achieve the largest fleet volume in our history, with more than 75,000 vehicles, and enabled mobility for more customers than ever before, including an increasing presence of SMEs and the self-employed,” he said. excellent copado.
Alphabet’s growth rate in full electric vehicle registration in 2021 was almost five times higher than the market average, at 118% versus 24%. In addition, the average age of the vehicle fleet, at 2.26 years, is below 13 years of the total vehicle fleet.
Likewise, as part of its strategy, the company has added flexible solutions adapted to its customers, such as Mobility Flex or AlphaRent. It has also developed tools to stimulate digitization, such as AlphaGuide.
Finally, Alphabet Spain has implemented a new transversal management model with the aim of improving systems, automating processes and transforming the organization to make it more digital and faster. Currently, this model, developed as a pilot test in Spain, is being transferred to other markets.
