Vehicle registration in the ‘rental’ sector in Spain

The semiconductor crisis and its impact on manufacturing activity have further limited the available range of vehicles, impacting new customer generation. Despite this, leasing in the park has continued to grow, becoming heavier in total registrations and adding new customers, albeit at a slower pace,” notes José-Martín Castro.
On the other hand, in 2022, alternative energy and low-emission models, with the DGT “Eco” or “0” badge, accounted for 32.09% of lease registrations in Spain, with an advance of 29.15% compared to the previous year, although it is
less than 35.8% of the national market as a whole. In total there are about 70,000 electrified vehicles, of which about 21,000 are purely electric and the rest hybrid.
