Date:

The Spanish Association of Car and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac) appreciated this Wednesday “very positively” the activation of this board table, announced last October during the Automobile de Barcelona

The President of the Government has announced that Plan Moves III support will be increased by EUR 235 million after the budget for charging infrastructure has been exhausted in almost all communities. During the creation of the “Charging infrastructure for electric vehicles” working group that took place at the Genera 2022 fair in Ifema Madrid, Pedro Sánchez put forward that he hopes to subsidize at least 238,000 electric vehicles and charging points by 2023, thanks to the Next Generation European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Plan. This year 2022, it plans to install 1,000 points.

The launch of this board table, which President Pedro Sánchez announced to the Anfac board of directors at the Automobile de Barcelona last October, is one of the measures identified by the manufacturers association as the driving force behind the rollout. of charging infrastructure.

For Moves III, a multi-year program until 2023, a budget of 400 million euros was initially made available from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) for the implementation of the Next Generation funds of the European Union.

The program is divided into two types of performances. On the one hand it collects support for the purchase of electric vehicles and on the other hand it offers subsidies for the construction of charging infrastructures.

Last April, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge reported that it had allocated an additional €125 million in aid to Catalonia, Castilla y León, the Balearic Islands and Madrid, the first regions to have exhausted the funds they had originally received. extension requested.

The Spanish Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Anfac) has given a very positive assessment of the announcement. “This measure will be a key element in consolidating the adoption of electric mobility in our country,” said Wayne Griffiths, president of Anfac. “We are faced with demanding emissions reduction targets where the roll-out of a network of sufficient capacity, quantity and quality is essential to provide the user with complete safety when using their electrified vehicle,” he added.

From Anfac, they point out that this year it will be necessary to reach a market of 120,000 electric cars and an infrastructure of 45,000 charging stations, respectively doubling and tripling the previous year’s records, so that a park of 3 electrified passenger cars in 2030, in line with the European emission reduction obligations.

Sánchez has also announced that the Spanish battery plants will be installed in Sagunto (Valencia) and Navalmoral de la Mata (Extremadura) and will be operational in 2026. They will employ 6,000 people directly and 20,000 people indirectly.
