Peugeot Pulsion 125 Euro 5: The most civilian ‘lion’

Date:

Design, safety and quality are combined in this high-equipment model

The 125 GT market continues to grow and Peugeot did not currently have a model in this segment to fight for its piece of the pie. With the launch of the Pulsion Euro 5, in Active, GT and Allure versions, manufactured in France, Peugeot Motocycles confirms its premium mobility offer in our country.

Design, safety and quality are combined in this model with a high level of equipment. It is the only one in its category that has a
Combination braking with ABS and SBC . as standard: the first prevents the wheels from locking and the second distributes the braking action between the front and rear wheels by operating a single brake lever, while the warnings are automatically activated in case of emergency braking.

In addition, those on longer journeys will not lose connection thanks to the built-in USB connection. Pulsion Euro 5 users can also enjoy LFE technology, which reduces noise emissions and fuel consumption, and the Peugeot PowerMotion Euro 5 engines, the most powerful in the range, with a 125cc developing 14.4 hp and 12 .4 Nm .

In the GT and Allure versions, the i-Connect instrument cluster provides information with parameters such as turn-by-turn GPS navigation, notification of contacts or phone numbers of incoming calls or display of SMS.

But in addition, the GT version has sports finishes designed for the most demanding pilots, such as the beautiful “naked” steering wheel, the Satin Titanium color with yellow accents that enhance the lines, or the flat aluminum floor.

They also share the checkered grille at the front and the fang-shaped DRL lighting, in addition to the three “claws” at the rear, light signatures that bear the hallmark of Peugeot Automobiles design. And in terms of transport capacity, the Allure model comes standard with a 39-litre top box, in the same color as the body, and a space of the same capacity under the seat, with a total payload of 78 litres. They also have a two-position adjustable windshield, although this must be done by removing it and replacing the anchors.

We were able to test this scooter in the city and on the highway, and despite the heat, over 40º, I can say that I enjoyed it. Obviously the advantages are what they are, but I would like to emphasize as positive the good overall ergonomics, the space under the seat, the handling and the balance at maximum speed and above all, compared to others, I liked the rear suspension. It is common for the brands to fit a pair of shocks with a very hard setting, thinking of using them in a duo, and the result is the bike ‘jumping’ over the potholes. The Pulsion pulls them, rolls on them and that improves stability and comfort of use, excellent for Peugeot. To cite some shortcomings, I would like it to equip adjustable handles and adjust the screen without tools.
