Thursday morning there was a spectacular accident on the connecting road between the two Vorarlberg communities Egg and Schwarzenberg. A truck with trailer overturned and blocked the entire roadway.
The accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. The trailer truck was on its way from the Bregenzerwald community of Egg to the neighboring village of Schwarzenberg. Shortly after leaving the village, the truck skidded for unknown reasons, after which both the tractor and trailer overturned and blocked the entire road.
The truck driver, who was reported to have suffered minor injuries, was able to free himself from the badly damaged driver’s cab before rescuers arrived. As a result, the Egg fire brigade had to tie off the leaked engine and hydraulic oil and then straighten the trailer and then the tractor again.
The connecting road between Egg and Schwarzenberg had to be completely closed for the duration of the accident investigation and rescue work.
