In court in Linz – Corona rule compared to genocide by Nazis

An organizer of a Corona demo has to answer to a court in Linz on August 31 for accusations of downplaying the Holocaust. He is said to have compared the pandemic measures on social media to the Nazi genocide. According to the prosecutor’s office, the man, who had already been sentenced to a year’s partially suspended prison sentence this year for various offenses related to his anti-measure activism, has admitted the facts, but has denied reactivation.

For a long time, the Upper Austrian was repeatedly embroiled in serious conflicts with the police and authorities. He was already in court in Linz in March. The trial included false charges against a police officer and the publication of officials’ records.

The then 38-year-old was sentenced to one year in prison, eight months of which was probation, for defamation, false testimony, defamation, insult and falsification of evidence. When in doubt, he was acquitted of the charges of dangerous threats and providing for abuse of office.

Up to ten years in prison
According to the public prosecutor in Linz, the verdict is now final. Caution will be required in the current process, ie an additional penalty will be imposed in the event of a conviction. The sentence for the accused Paragraph 3h Prohibition Act is between one and ten years.
