The gas reserve is 77% in the EU and 82% in Spain

The threshold set by Europe is 80% and several countries, including Spain, have already exceeded it.

Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton confirmed on Thursday that plans to have a minimum gas reserve in the European Union by next autumn are on the right track. Breton has placed the reserve in a 76.92%close to the target of 80%.

In case of Spain, the level of reserves already exceeds that thresholdin particular, they reach 82%, while in France they are 90%, in Germany 80% and in Italy they have reserves of 79%.

According to the economist, Europe will have “coal, fuel, kerosene and electricity” this winter, pointing out that “the problem” becomes the gas and electricity produced by gas.

The aim of the EU is: Reach 80 percent of storage capacity in any country member before November to ensure the bloc’s energy security despite tensions with Russia.
