Artist Alexander Schneller was wrapping up his performance at the children’s carnival at the Millennium City’s A-Dance Club late Sunday afternoon when he witnessed the incident. He describes his experience to “Krone”.
“I just went to the food court to get something to eat. After ordering I had to wait a while. Just as I got the food, mass panic broke out,” said the 36-year-old.
People ran to the exit
Suddenly women shouted, men shouted at passersby: “Run!” People then rushed towards the exit, and the fast food restaurant employees even jumped over the counter and fled. “The rumor immediately spread that someone had a gun and someone else was bleeding,” the shocked Viennese recalled.
Just leave quickly
Suddenly the entire food court was empty. “I quickly walked to the parking garage and saw that the doors of the club were already locked.”
You immediately noticed that something must have happened. “When I drove out of the parking garage, I felt quite uncomfortable. No further details were known at the time. I just wanted to get out quickly,” says Schneller. Shortly afterwards, police and ambulance arrived.
