Spectacular scenes took place on Wednesday in Vienna’s Penzinger Linzer Strasse. A masked man marched into a jewelry store and threatened an employee with a gun. However, she threw the would-be robber away with loud screams.
An employee of the jewelry store was standing in front of the display case on Wednesday morning to check the display cases. Her colleague was sitting at her desk writing emails when a previously unknown person entered the store at exactly 10:44 am. With his cap, sunglasses and face mask, he didn’t look special at first. According to the store manager, the man in dark blue jeans and a light blue shirt was about 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall and he was holding a backpack in front of his body. He purposely walked toward the employee, threw his backpack over the counter and yelled, “Raid!”
Workers yelled at robbers to flee
Surprised to see a gun the robber took from his backpack, the clerk flinched in her office chair, yelled “attack” several times and fled the store. Surveillance videos show her leaving the store screaming. Then comes the attacker, who almost loses his cap in shock.
Witnesses standing across from the store saw the masked man run away down Linzer Strasse, after which all traces of the would-be robber were lost.
Who recognizes the man in the video and photos? All relevant information can be provided to any police station.
Boss immediately rushed to the “crime scene”
The next day, the boss is just happy that his employee responded quickly and that nothing more happened to her than the shock she suffered. “It all only took twelve seconds,” he says at the local inspection “Krone” in Penzing. As soon as he heard about it, he rushed to the “crime scene” himself from an adjacent room. Incidentally, despite all efforts, the perpetrator did not succeed in taking anything with him. According to the jeweler, he had never been robbed before. Let’s hope it was the last time too.
