Date:

News in the criminal case of the Salzburg slaughterhouse fire: The alleged arsonist arrested on Tuesday has since been taken into custody. The security guard (27) had already made a partial confession to the police. But before the magistrate, he remained silent.

Due to the risk of committing a crime, the Salzburg Regional Court has imposed pre-trial detention, spokesman Peter Egger confirmed at Krone’s request. “The suspect refused to testify in court and gave no information.” During questioning with the police, the 27-year-old admitted that he “ignited something”.

Probably the packing material used in the warehouse is to pack meat products. However, he has remained silent about the motive and the exact course of the crime, so there is no concrete information about it yet. The investigation is still ongoing, police said.
