The courageous intervention of two young firefighters may have saved the life of a young person in the Tyrolean Söll (Kufstein district). The boy threatened to drown in the moor on Friday when his comrades discovered and acted.
The Söll volunteer fire brigade was called to an operation early Friday morning because a young person was missing in the area around the moor in Söll. Emergency services searched the area with thermal imaging cameras and a drone. At around 5:20 am, Alexander and Marco Zott discovered a person in the water, “trying to stay afloat, swinging wildly”, according to the FF Söll. The cousins immediately jumped into the lake and pulled the boy ashore. Other firefighters cared for the rescued until rescue arrived.
The brave intervention of the young comrades makes the Söller operations manager and deputy commander Bernhard Sallegger very proud: the two would have perfectly implemented what they had learned into action and thus saved a human life.
