In Spielberg, Styria, a 37-year-old Romanian has been arrested: the man is said to have forced a 43-year-old compatriot into prostitution. She managed to get to safety, the Romanian police warned through acquaintances at home, who in turn alerted the Styrian colleagues.
The emergency call from the Romanian police reached the Styrian management shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday: according to it, a woman was detained in an apartment in Spielberg and raped. Murtal officials immediately intervened in the housing of the workers in Spielberg and quickly came to the aid of the 43-year-old.
Dramatic scenes had taken place before that: the woman was able to defend herself briefly when she was forced to perform sexual services, she managed to flee into a room in the apartment and lock herself there. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Romanian tried to kick open the door, but was unable to. The victim called acquaintances in Romania, who in turn alerted the Romanian police. This is how the aid chain has been set in motion in our state.
37-year-old suspect
Police officers arrested the heavily intoxicated 37-year-old in the apartment and handed him over to a police inspection. The officers also initially detained a 53-year-old Romanian man who was present in the apartment and to whom the woman was apparently going to be “presented”.
Further investigation revealed that the 43-year-old had only come to the Murtal with the 37-year-old compatriot last Thursday. He planned to work there as a forest worker. Both moved to the workers’ quarters for the time being. Apparently, the 37-year-old should have already decided to offer his companion for sex services against her will and for a fee. However, when he did this to the 53-year-old on Saturday evening, the woman fought back.
The 43-year-old was not injured and was taken to safety. The previously impeccable 37-year-old files a report on behalf of the public prosecutor in Leoben.
