Tragic accident at work Monday morning in St. Georgen near Neumarkt in Styria: A 65-year-old man was fatally injured while clearing a patch of forest.
At about 11 a.m., the victim and his 34-year-old son were clearing a patch of forest near St. Georgen near Neumarkt (Murau district).
Son was still trying to help
When a tree was felled, two spruces hanging from this tree fell to the ground and then fell on the 65-year-old worker. All of the son’s attempts to free the trapped father failed – whereupon the 34-year-old notified emergency services.
Unfortunately, however, all help came too late, only the death of the man could be determined. The next of kin are received on site by the crisis intervention team.
