“We have spent billions on energy autonomy. By way of comparison: Tiwag has reserved 1.6 billion euros for the current construction programme, Wien Energie now needs 6 billion euros as security to be able to continue buying electricity. Therefore, it cannot and should not be the case that the West has to pay for the liquidity problems of the federal capital,” said Mattle, who is in the middle of the Tyrolean election campaign.
