Fire on the Geisberg probably caused by fireworks
Fireworks probably caused a fire on the Gaisberg on New Year’s Eve. Around 8:00 pm, the undergrowth on the west side of the Gaisbergspitze caught fire, quickly spreading over the dry area and covering about 1000 square meters. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and prevented them from spreading to the trees. During an inspection of the fire area, remnants of pyrotechnic objects were found, according to the police.
