A family in the neighboring German Allgäu came home Friday evening after a week’s vacation to a nasty surprise. After unlocking the front door, the homeowners were suddenly confronted by a stranger in the hallway. However, this was no ordinary burglar.
As the investigation of the alarmed police showed, the man probably entered the family home in the municipality of Heising near Kempten shortly after the family left on Sunday 21 August. Until his arrest, the man apparently settled there.
The family found that the man had apparently helped with the food supply himself and had also slept in the house. In addition, the man had allegedly stolen three-figure items and cash from the house.
When exactly the suspect broke into the house and whether more people were involved, is currently being investigated by the Kempten Criminal Investigation Department, led by the Kempten Public Prosecution Service. At the request of the public prosecutor, the man was brought before the investigating judge of the Kempten District Court, who has issued an arrest warrant. The officers then took the suspect to a correctional facility.
