Mine clearance – The president of South Korea promises equipment to Kiev

Date:

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has pledged more aid to Ukraine. These include mine clearance equipment and military ambulances. Yoon Suk-yeol met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the first time since the start of the war on Sunday.

The government of South Korea has so far participated in financial sanctions against Russia and is providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Despite Zelenskyy’s corresponding requests, the East Asian country is not sending weapons of war to Ukraine. Mine clearing equipment and ambulances for the army are now promised. South Korea stands with the Ukrainians until peace is restored, Yoon said.

Selenskyj campaigned for a peace plan
Selenskyj thanked the meeting for the earlier support. Both sides allegedly agreed to help rebuild Ukraine together. The president of Ukraine also promoted his peace plan at the G7 summit (see video above for the summit). It was developed in such a way that all points were supported by UN resolutions and each country could choose its own contribution. He insists on the restoration of the territorial unity of Ukraine and rejects any transfer of territory.

Guessing Bachmut
Meanwhile, speculation continues about a possible capture of Bakhmut. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Wagner’s mercenaries and the Russian military for “liberating” Russia’s embattled city of Artemovsk. Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense denied. “Bakhmut was not occupied by Russia today,” Zelenskyy said in Japan on Sunday.

The city’s own troops had partially surrounded the city on its flanks, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maljar said. As reported, the Moscow Defense Ministry announced on Sunday evening that the Wagner mercenary group and Russian forces had jointly captured Bakhmut.
