Like many other politicians, State Secretary Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) is also represented on the TikTok platform, which is extremely popular with children and young people. There she posts her messages in a very short and erratic, but somewhat serious way. However, on Friday, a five-second video was posted on her channel in which she uses indecent words to attack the trend of constant social media presence.
The short clip shows one of her employees walking through the door with a cell phone in hand and a defiant look on his face. “If you tell the minister it’s time for a new TikTok video,” it reads in English.
“Shit”
The reaction of the minister, who clearly doesn’t feel like it: In several shots, she utters the word “Shit” in quick succession, it is actually spoken by a male voice from the start. Then the video stops. The whole can of course be seen with a wink, the video is also subtitled “must be fun” and a wink smiley.
Edtstadler’s clip should contain some truth: your last TikTok video (about inflation) was dated August 17. Employees may have advised her to serve her fans on TikTok with content again. The minister is currently at the Alpbach Forum in Tyrol, where she deals with much more serious matters.
