18 “Top Secret” – FBI Found Over 11,000 Government Documents About Trump

Date:

FBI investigators seized more than 11,000 government documents and 48 empty folders marked “classified information” at the home of former US President Donald Trump. This is according to court documents released Friday. The documents in 33 boxes were seized during a raid on Trump’s luxury residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Aug. 8.

The inventory list now published shows that 18 of the photos and documents were classified as “top secret”, 54 as “secret” and 31 as “confidential”. “Top Secret” is the highest level of secrecy reserved for confidential and sensitive information. In addition, 90 empty file folders were found, 43 of which were marked as “secret” classified information. It is unclear why the folders were empty or whether documents could be missing.

Trump is suspected of illegally taking government documents with him when he left the White House. A United States law requires that a president’s letters, memos, emails, faxes, and other written correspondence be archived for posterity. The Justice Department said it had tried several times to get all the documents back. Finally, on August 8, Mar-a-Lago was searched (krone.at reports), with the FBI confiscating the boxes.

List of seized objects published
A judge in the US state of Florida on Friday released a detailed list of the items the FBI seized from ex-President Donald Trump. The US Department of Justice had previously submitted the detailed list to Florida Judge Aileen Cannon, so far it has been classified. Cannon is handling the searches as part of a Trump lawsuit and, for example, has to decide whether – at Trump’s request – a special representative should be appointed to review the actions against Trump.

On Thursday, it was said that Cannon would soon comment in writing on the issue of a neutral examiner. For reasons of transparency, the judge had requested the detailed list from the Ministry of Justice and has now made it public.

In early August, the FBI searched Trump’s mansion at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. The FBI seized several sets of documents, some of which were classified as top secret. Since Trump kept the data on his private estate after his term in office, he may have broken the law. This is now being investigated. Trump criticized the authorities’ actions as politically motivated. The Republican was president from 2017 to 2021.
