A serious accident involving three vehicles occurred on the Stubaitalstrasse in Neustift in the Stubaital in Tyrol on Friday afternoon. A 20-year-old driver collided head-on with the oncoming car of a 50-year-old. Both were injured in the accident. Another vehicle just managed to get out of the way.
Shortly after 4 p.m., a 20-year-old local resident drove his car into the oncoming lane for reasons that have not yet been clarified. “To avoid a head-on collision, an oncoming 60-year-old German tore up his car,” police said. As a result, the 20-year-old’s vehicle collided head-on with that of an oncoming 50-year-old Austrian.
Two drivers seriously injured
The 20-year-old and 50-year-old were seriously injured in the accident and were taken to hospitals in Innsbruck. The 60-year-old German and his wife, who was the same age, were unharmed, according to an initial investigation.
All three vehicles were heavily damaged. During the recording of the accident, the accident site was completely cordoned off. This caused a traffic jam for a short time.
