“Fire on motor car”: With this alarm, the fire brigade of Schärding (Upper Austria) was called to the local train station early Saturday morning. A resident heard a loud bang around 5:30 a.m. and saw a cone of light. When the helpers arrived at the station, they noticed that an unknown person on the train was on fire.
The victim was still able to show signs of life. The firefighters managed to extinguish the man and were able to free him from his predicament and hand him over to the rescuers. With serious burns, the man was then flown in a rescue helicopter to the experts of the MedUni Vienna department for serious burns.
Money bag with ID found
After the fire was completely extinguished, emergency services found a bag of money on the roof of the burned down train. Inside was the ID of a 19-year-old German, who was identified by his parents as the fire victim later that day. It is not known why the young German climbed onto the parked train car and then ended up in the power line. His health is extremely critical.
