A serious industrial accident occurred in the municipality of Radenthein (Carinthia) on Thursday morning. It slipped while transporting a 300 kilogram boiler over stairs. A 22-year-old and a 49-year-old worker were pushed against a pedestal. The seriously injured men were transferred to Spittal Hospital.
During installation work on a heating system in the municipality of Radenthein, four colleagues wanted to transport a 300 kg kettle down the stairs to the basement when the kettle suddenly started to slide and two of the workers were pressed against a platform.
The two men, aged 22 and 49, both from the Spittal/Drau district, suffered serious leg injuries. After first aid, one worker was flown with the rescue helicopter RK 1 to the hospital in Spittal an der Drau, the other was transported by rescue services.
