It doesn’t always have to be meat: in Windisch-Minihof in Burgenland, landlady Karin Siegl serves a new creation of insects. The proceeds go to a social organization.
Take a landlady in Windisch-Minihof, who always thinks far beyond the horizon. Add to that their creative chef and socially engaged people: and you have a very special burger that not only fills you up, but also makes you happy. Because he supports people who are not doing so well.
Labels made from insects
The company ZIRP is engaged in the production of high-quality food from insects. Includes patties for burgers, commonly known as “Laberl”. The Neunerhaus in Vienna is a social organization that cares for people at risk of poverty.
There is daily cooking in the Neunerhaus and many food donations are processed. The pasties from the company ZIRP could not be used on their own. “It was immediately clear to us that we wanted to contribute something and that we also had the opportunity,” says landlady Karin Siegl. Her daughter Lea works at the Neunerhaus and that is how the Pattys came to the south of Burgenland. In accordance with the philosophy of the house, the burger is combined with products from the region.
Donation for Neunerhaus
“The burger was very popular with the first brave eaters, people describe the taste as nutty and spicy,” says the owner. The insect burger is available while supplies last. The net proceeds go to the Neunerhaus.
