It’s amazing what is possible when people support each other. After the publication of the appeal for donations by the Scheffknecht family from Feldkirch, the full amount for the operation of the young dog “Keks” could be raised.
The great love for animals of the “Krone” readers was evident – so not only were donations diligently made, but numerous wishes for recovery were left for Biscuit. The association “Freunde der Tierecke” has also pledged a generous support of 1500 euros for the veterinary costs of “Keks”. “We are falling short. We almost gave up,” said the family, who could hardly believe their willingness to help.
A long road to recovery
Now the 16-month-old mixed-race man can finally be relieved of his pain: “We’re starting now and set the date for the first surgery.”
After a total of two hip surgeries, it will be a long way before “Keks” can jump across the pasture, but hopes for a happy dog’s life are revived.
