Drug investigators from the Vienna police arrested a 21-year-old on Thursday morning. More than three kilograms of heroin and other smaller amounts of other drugs were seized during house searches in two apartments in Vienna-Hietzing and Simmering.
The reason for the searches was the arrest of a 21-year-old man suspected of trafficking in narcotics. During a preliminary search of his apartment, detectives seized large quantities of heroin and large sums of cash.

Further investigation led police to a second apartment in Simmering, where an alleged accomplice of the 21-year-old was also arrested. Police also found drugs in the apartment.
In total, officers seized 3,124 grams of heroin, 32 grams of marijuana and 13 grams of cocaine. 5,800 euros in cash was also collected, police spokeswoman Barbara Gass reported.
