Friday night there was a violent argument between a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old in Vienna-Favoriten. The young man allegedly punched her in the face and stole her cell phone.
When the police officers arrived on the scene, they managed to settle the tangible dispute on Favoritenstrasse, but the suspect fled during the ensuing interrogation. When police chased the 20-year-old, the suspect kicked an officer in the ankle, injuring him. The second police officer was able to arrest the fugitive a short time later.

Despite a fractured ankle discovered later, the injured officer was able to restrain the suspected robber until reinforcements arrived. The 20-year-old had threatened the officers with death. During a subsequent search, the 15-year-old’s cell phone was seized. The man was arrested.
The injured police officer was then taken to hospital and admitted to the hospital for further treatment.
