Nasty comments – Innkeeper scolded after Van der Bellen visit

Date:

Michael Wenzel of the “Wia z’haus Lehner” in Linz proudly posted on Facebook that Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen – surprisingly enough – visited him as a guest. But then suddenly there were reactions he never expected.

“Today a high-ranking visitor to our Wia z’haus Lehner.” This sentence and four photos with Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen placed innkeeper Michael Wenzel (40), a tenant in Linz-Urfahr, proud of the surprising visit of the head of state. Wenzel: “He was not registered, suddenly came through the door because he was going to an 80s party that was being held by relatives. After all, I was happy that the Federal President does not come to your home every day.”

An unbelievable shit storm
But the supposedly innocent mail caused an almost unbelievable “shit storm,” as it’s called in modern German, when anger and anger on the Internet pour out of a bucket of dirt. Within the first 23 hours, there were more than 900 responses. One of the negative quotes: “The Lehner is one of my favorite places in Linz. counted. I don’t want to be where someone like Van der Bellen, who has failed to prevent so many violations of the constitution, is welcome.”

However, many see it differently. One poster wrote: “The opinion of so many compatriots is really to the shame of others. And that’s called democracy, it’s still the right of the innkeeper whom he wants to serve…”

Criticism also personal?
As opinions clash on the internet, innkeeper Wenzel is stunned: “I never expected that in my life. I thought it was an advertisement for us.” Incidentally, no one said the criticism straight to him.
