A 21-year-old drunk driver miraculously survived a hellish ride in an accident in St. Wolfgang (Upper Austria). A deer was responsible for the ride and “take off”.
The 21-year-old from Lower Austria drove his car on Wednesday shortly before 2 a.m. on the L 546 coming from St. Wolfgang in the direction of Bad Ischl. When a deer jumped onto the road, it jerked its car and landed on the guardrail. A hellish ride began, with the young driver being just a passenger and unable to do anything more: the car overturned and slid about 200 meters onto the roof. The car then hit the guardrail again and came to a stop on the side of the bicycle path.
Miraculously, the driver was unharmed, an alcohol test was positive with 1.26 per mille – he had to surrender his driver’s license and he was reported. Firefighters had to use a crane to recover the wreckage from the accident.
