On Wednesday, the verdict was passed against a 15-year-old who was involved in robbing, humiliating and filming a 12-year-old in the garbage room of a municipal building in Vienna in October 2022. The child was punched in the face and forced to undress…
She was then photographed half-naked and threatened that the photos would be posted on Instagram if she did not provide more designer clothes. She also had to lick garbage off the floor.
“I was just there”
The two main perpetrators were sentenced to ten and six months’ probation, respectively, in early February. The third party in the alliance did not appear at the main session at the time. “I overslept,” she explained bluntly to judge Georg Allmayer. This time she arrived on time – and handcuffed. After she continued to refuse to respond to court letters, the 15-year-old was arrested and taken into custody on March 11. “It’s not so nice there,” she shared with the judge about her recent experiences.
“I was there when they did it,” the defendant confessed. However, she was not directly involved in the robbery: “I just stood there.” She even gave the 12-year-old, who was sent to the dump and humiliated after her outer clothing was forcibly removed, a coat, “so she doesn’t freeze.” .
Victim fled to the police
The 15-year-old was acquitted of the robbery by her accomplices but especially by the victim, so she was acquitted of this fact. But she was deeply involved in the blackmail attempt – instead of bringing the 15-year-old more clothes, the victim went to the police. “I thought nothing of it,” she said.
Perpetrators come from bleak family backgrounds
In the end, the previously blameless woman was given a six-month suspended prison sentence of up to two and a half years. In addition, probation was imposed and the 15-year-old – like her accomplices of the same age, a dismal family background and was last housed in a residential care home – was instructed to undergo psychotherapy.
After a brief exchange with defense attorney Johannes Maximilian Fouchs, the 15-year-old accepted the verdict, as did the prosecutor. The decision is therefore final. Much to her relief, the 15-year-old was released immediately after the trial.
