A man experienced every hiker’s nightmare on the Tauplitz (Styria) on Tuesday. The man from Graz was bitten by a viper near Lake Steir and had to be flown to hospital. The man is in intensive care.
The man from Graz took advantage of the nice weather to go hiking on the Tauplitz. But his walk ended abruptly when he was suddenly bitten in the finger by a viper.

A woman from the mountain rescue team who happened to be present immediately gave first aid after the poisonous snake bite and started the rescue chain. Ultimately, the man had to be flown by helicopter to the LKH Hochsteiermark in Leoben, where he is currently being treated in intensive care.
