This Friday, the Ministry of Health registered 48,834 new infections, which exceeds the total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic to 11,627,487. In turn, another 357 deaths were added, bringing the total to 103,104 from March 2020. 200 of them happened in the last week.

As for the incidence of coronavirus in people over the age of 60, in the current health report it is 420.17 cases per 100,000 population. Approximately 52% of the population, in booster doses

51.9% of Spaniards have already received the boost dose of COVID-19 vaccine, or 24,596,083 people. By age group, in both those over 60 and those over 70, more than 90% of people received this extra puncture. Specifically, this is 92.40% for people over the age of 70 and 91.93% for people aged 60 and older. For their part, in most young people this percentage is 22.65% from 18 to 19 years and 60.31% from 40 to 49 years.

Thus, since the start of the vaccination campaign in Spain, more than 94.13 million doses have been administered in Spain and 92.5% of people over the age of 12 have already received the full schedule.

In the group of children aged five to twelve, 53.6% have at least one dose, while 39.6% have already completed the full regimen.

Finish outdoor masks on April 20th

On April 20, the obligation to wear a mask comes to Spain. The statement has some nuances, such as the exception to the rule. Wearing a veil will be mandatory at health centers, nursing homes and on public transport. Apart from these places, it is recommended for the general population to “use responsibly” in practically all indoor spaces where there is socialization, except for schools, as well as for socially vulnerable people.

This includes shops, movie theaters, theaters, concert halls, museums, bars, restaurants or nightclubs … as well as private holidays in a family or friendly setting. The Minister recalled that light and asymptomatic positive cases should also be used, which no longer have the obligation of isolation from 28 March.
