Last Friday, a man from Graz shot his wife and then himself in the central cemetery. Before this dramatic act of desperation, the 75-year-old must have written a letter that reached the “Styrian Crown” on Monday.
“This is an act of desperation!” – With these words begins an emotional letter that reached the “Steirerkrone” on Monday. The author is the 75-year-old who on Friday first shot his seriously ill wife (71) and then himself in the central cemetery of Graz (we reported). Police classified the act as a “prolonged suicide”.
Home contract has ended
This is also apparent from the present letter: “Now we have both decided to end this activity and retire,” it reads. The reason may be that the woman’s house contract was terminated by a private nursing home in Graz – the corresponding letter is attached to the letter.
House management said the woman had psychiatric problems and that the house was not designed for that. And: “The termination was not an ad hoc decision, there were many preparatory discussions. We deeply regret the incident.”
If you are in an exceptional psychological situation or have suicidal thoughts: The telephone assistance can be reached 24 hours a day on 142.
