kronehit is now putting the spotlight on Austria’s sustainable communities. Who is really concerned with climate protection and energy saving and how? Austria’s largest private radio station has been sending its team across the country since Monday and is giving the winners of the kronehit community challenge 10,000 euros for the next climate project! At the start, the Tyrolean community of Wörgl accepted the radio station’s challenge with a “Green Grand Prix”.
Renewable energy, waste avoidance, electromobility, recycling etc. kronehit wants to know: How do Austrian municipalities help to protect the climate? Which climate protection projects have already been implemented or are in the pipeline? Who shows particularly innovative and motivated commitment? In the kronehit community challenge, the team takes a closer look at the communities and tests their cohesion before all of Austria finally votes. Which communities are in the race for victory and who will win the race?
Green Grand Prix at the start
To begin with, it turned out Wörgl in the Inn Valley from the Kufstein district joined forces from the kronehit community challenge. Hair The brief was to host a “green” race on Monday, with the entire volume coming only from cheering fans. The municipality is already exemplary with the promotion of e-mopeds and photovoltaic energy, a bicycle rental system and a climate-positive cogeneration plant. Car-free zones are already being planned. The Wörglers have now also performed kronehit’s “Green Grand Prix – Challenge” excellently, with bobby cars and full commitment on the high school grounds.
“Thank you so much for the great challenge we were able to overcome – as you can see, we are relatively spontaneous and vigorous in Wörgl. We have thought about what we are going to build from the ground up! It would be nice if we regularly organize events in this direction, I have a few ideas in mind,” said Mayor Michael Riedhart, proud of his community’s achievements.
From Friday, the whole of Austria will decide whether Wörgl will also receive the prize of 10,000 euros for the next climate project – by voting on kronehit.at!
