Animal use – dog “Myla” rescued from Tyrolean via ferrata

Date:

The mountain rescue service Zell am Ziller in the Tyrolean Zillertal rescued a dog from the Talbach via ferrata on Wednesday afternoon. After “Myla” probably overestimated her alpine skills, the owner made the emergency call.

Like Emperor Maximilian in the Martinswand, Myla did not advance or retreat around 4:45 pm on Wednesday afternoon. At one point she got quite lost and got stuck on her four legs in the steep, impassable terrain. The hike had started so well: she walked with her Zillertaler “Frauerl” and a friend on the hiking trail “Talbach” towards Zell am Ziller. Apparently she was in the mood for adventure, because Myla suddenly escaped and started her exploration in the impassable and fall-prone terrain of the “Talchbach” via ferrata.

It was the soothing voice of the Zillertaler that finally made the dog stop at a steep slope.

Bitch and Frauerl relieved
The dog owner made an emergency call and the Zell am Ziller mountain rescue service was there immediately. A mountain rescuer made his way to the frightened dog. “Myla was clearly happy to be rescued. She immediately trusted the mountain rescuer,” said the mountain rescue team in Zell am Ziller.

The escapee was returned to her owner unharmed – both clearly relieved. Six members of the Zell am Ziller mountain rescue team and the local police were on duty for about an hour.
