Teen (16) in custody – 15-year-old stabbed outside school in England

A 16-year-old Briton has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 15-year-old boy who was attacked with a knife near his school in Huddersfield on Wednesday afternoon and died in hospital.

According to British media, the attack would have taken place not far from the entrance to the school of the murder victim. The 15-year-old was held to the ground and stabbed repeatedly, eyewitnesses reported. He was taken to hospital but had to be pronounced dead shortly after his admission.

Tat shortly after school caused a stir
A 16-year-old who was eventually arrested early Thursday morning is under suspicion. Police are now investigating a murder. The case caused a stir across the country as many parents were collecting their children at the time. In a statement to parents, school principal Andrew Fell said it was “shocking news for our students, their children and our staff”.

School open only to provide psychological help
The school opened later on Thursday and only to those who wanted psychological support. “We have already identified a number of witnesses to the incident ourselves, but would like to hear from anyone who has information that can help with the investigation,” said study researcher Marc Bowes.

Deadly knife attacks on teenagers are common in the UK. Often other young people are the perpetrators, it concerns gang wars and drugs.
