In Gleisdorf in Styria, a cozy campfire ended on Sunday afternoon for an 11-year-old girl in the children’s clinic. A boy spilled gasoline on the glowing logs and the girl caught fire.
You don’t play with fire – four children in the eastern Styrian town of Gleisdorf had to make this painful experience. Three boys and a girl, aged 11 to 12, made a campfire in the afternoon.
When the fire was out, one of the boys decided to pour gasoline on the already wet, glowing wood. According to the police, he extracted about a quarter of a liter from an old moped tank.
A flame erupted and injured the girl sitting on the right side of her body and face by the campfire. She suffered first and second degree burns and was taken by ambulance to Graz Children’s Hospital, where she was admitted as a patient.
