Police have again evacuated a makeshift refugee camp on the outskirts of Paris. The 354 men, who had been staying in the tent camp by a canal for months, were transferred to quarters in the Paris area and beyond after an outbreak of scabies.
The residence procedure and the health and social situation of those affected must be arranged. The city of tents itself, where scab broke out, was demolished.
According to police, this was the 15th evacuation of a camp this year and more than 4,000 refugees were taken to permanent housing.
Tent camps continue to form in Paris and on the outskirts of the city, in which migrants live in precarious conditions. Police evacuated a camp on the historic Place de la Bastille on Friday.
