Shocking moment on Wednesday evening for the owners of a hotel in Finkenberg (Schwaz district)! A steam generator in a sauna suddenly caught fire. The hotelier was able to extinguish the fire himself. Fortunately no one was injured.
Around 8 p.m. a sauna steam generator was on fire in the basement. The owners were aware of the fire when the fire alarm went off. There was a lot of smoke from the basement from the fire.
The hotelier was able to extinguish the flames himself using a fire extinguisher. The alarmed fire brigade only had to ventilate the building. No further extinguishing measures were necessary. “According to the current state of knowledge, a technical defect in the electronic component of the steam generator should be the cause of the fire,” the police said.
No injuries
Only one aircraft was damaged in the incident. The building and luckily no one was injured. The Finkenberg fire brigade, the rescue service and a police patrol were deployed.
