In the state of Salzburg, the fire brigade emergency call 122 did not work for a short time on Thursday morning. As the country said, callers were unable to reach the number between 7:38 a.m. and 8:02 a.m. due to a software bug at the telecom provider.
“There was always contact between the state control center and the individual local fire departments,” the state said. The technical malfunction was discovered during the usual routine monitoring of emergency calls. The error was then found and fixed within minutes. An accurate technical analysis of the cause is still ongoing.
In the city of Salzburg, the emergency call worked as usual. There were also no restrictions on the European emergency numbers 112, 133 for the police and 144 for the Red Cross.
